Zombie Events

It is starting to become that time of year where many towns across America are hosting zombie events. With the new season of the Walking Dead about to start you can count on there being a lot more.  I have yet to go to one but the more I read about them the more interesting they sound.

The main event for many of these is usually a zombie run where individuals run from zombie actors.  They run a certain amount of miles and through some obstacles.  While they are running they are trying to stay ahead of the horde that is steadily gaining on them from behind.

Many of the people that go to these events dress up as zombies themselves.  The event usually ends with some kind of contest with a judging of who had the best costume.

What do you guys think about these events?  Do you go or not?

Zombie Store Opens in Florida

A new shop called Zombie Survival Store has opened in Orlando.  The store has a majority of Army and Navy surplus but they do cater to the zombie crowd.

Some of their products include:

  • Survival Kits
  • Knives
  • Rations
  • Combat Fatigues
  • 3-D zombie targets
  • Zombie killing permits
If you are not interested in getting  surplus materials they also carry other things like zombie books and zombie candy.

With all the zombie craze going around it is a surprise that more stores like this one have not sprung up.

If you are on the lookout for a place to buy zombie items, you might want to check this store out.

Interactive Prequel for Medieval Zombie game

Game developers Techland have released an interactive prequel for their new game Hellraid.  This prequel is a set of interactive videos where you make choices to keep your character alive. In the prequel you play as a monk named Edyn, who you must guide to escape the creature and trap infested monastery

Hellraid is a first person medieval action-role playing game.  In the game you and your friends will face off against armies from the underworld.  For those of you who have enjoyed Techland's other game Dead Island should find this game enjoyable. It seems to borrow a good bit from that game but has some differences to it. One major difference between Dead Island and Hellraid is the inclusion of magic.  There is no release date for the game, but it will be available on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3

So what do you guys think about this game so far?  Did many of you like Dead Island?

Schwarzenegger in a Zombie Movie?

Arnold Schwarzenegger has tweeted a photo of himself, co-actor Abigail Breslin, and director Henry Hobson on the set of the upcoming zombie movie "Maggie".

The movie revolves around a daughter who has recently been infected. This leads to her and her family waiting for when she eventually becomes one of the undead.  Arnold is set to play the father of Maggie.

This will be the second horror genre movie that Arnold has been in.  The first one that he was in was the movie "End of Days" which was not well receieved.  There were those that felt that Arnold did his better work in action movies rather then horror.

There is no word yet as to when the movie will be released.

What do you guys think of Arnold being in another horror movie?  Will you go see the movie when it comes out?

Spin-Off for The Walking Dead

Yesterday it was announced by AMC that The Walking Dead would get a spin-off in 2015.  They went on to say that this side story would have different characters and a different setting than the main show.

This seems to be a trend now for AMC as they have recently created a spin-off for Breaking Bad.  With this happening it could mean that AMC might want to go in other directions with this series. This is good news for fans of the main show because once it is over, the spin-offs could keep going on.

Even though there is not much to go on, what are your thoughts on this spin-off? Where do you think it will take place at?
